Research Shows that Children learn better through Music than almost any other medium
Many years’ experience in Education and Youth Theatre convince me of this. Children’s innate musical talent is amazing, and if inspired, they enjoy and excel at performing. So I always thoroughly try and test out songs and scripts on my pupils (and most discerning critics) before publication for other organizations to perform.
My cross-curricular musicals cover Literature, History, PSHE and Science. Five of my Environmental musicals have been commissioned by the World Wide Fund for Nature.
As a short and simpler alternative to full-length Musicals, I have recently added a brand new collection of EcoShows. Lasting about 20 minutes, they include a presentation with a story, rhymes, actions, games and a SingAlong video with inspiring wildlife photographs. Casts of anything from two to over thirty make these mini shows ideal for children themselves to perform in assemblies, classrooms or even at home. With topics including Minibeasts, Elephants, Rainforests, Allotments, Oceans, Ponds, Recycling, Space and many more, they are guaranteed to leave everyone with a song in their head and a thought to take away!
